So I think all the pages should go together and flow well if we have the violet color line at the top of each page. It will really tie the sections together. Good job with the idea! Sections and the whole mag. in its entirety is coming together real nice! Good job guys :)

I worked on another ad, this time it is for a toy expo seeing as vinyl toys seem to be the in thing right now. That and toys in general, that are customizable as well. Here it is. The watermark is mine, but of course there would be no watermark when it is printed.

Hey Guys,
So I decided to change up my designer profile and just have my logo, I'm not sure which I like better seeing as my style is kind of chaotic (like the first one), but then I feel myself getting more minimalistic as I progress into the final design phase, so I'm not sure if I should do a transition of the two, but I think I'm leaning towards the more clean cut one.

Then I finished what is the editorial and table of contents, I just need your guys' help to come up with the sections and which pages we're putting them onto, I think I might just omit the 2nd inspir masthead seeing as I could just continue the purple bar, instead of having that break.

Then here is an ad I did for the magazine to incorporate a tie within the mix media genre of having an art exhibition by the beach.

Here's what I've been working on for the cover art. I figured since we were going with that urban feel I'd add a picture of graffiti, if anything we could probably add on top of it, like hand rendering stuff to better tie in our theme.

So I've been working on ads this week and here is one of them. I was thinking that it'd be beneficial to show ads such as upcoming art exhibitions of certain artists we have in our magazine. You know like how they have the ads in high fructose the magazine. So here's one of them, I'll be posting more after I finish them.

Here is an idea for a layout for our magazine. Our typography would follow as such depending on the story. The white space would be for images, the header could follow the side image on the left side depending if it follows the article or not. If it would be visually appealing to the layout or not.

Hey guys!

I already have two interviews I'm starting to do for the mag. One of them is a DJ who goes to this school and is taking up graphic design. I think that it goes good with the whole concept of art. Its both forms of expression, music and design. I also am interviewing someone else who goes to this school for fashion, she is also a hip hop dancer. So again it is two forms of art expression. Im working on the layouts and have a pretty good idea how I want everything to look.

Inspiration of Seasons

I was thinking of the issues in the mag and was inspired by seasons and graphics that make up the feeling of those seasons and making them into advertisements. This is a winter issue that I came up with, I also have spring and summer.

Talked to a couple of printers, they want to know how many we wish to purchase as well as the quality. One of them stated that if we buy 1 it'll cost us 137 for 4 it'll cost us 173, and for 10 it'll cost us 244 dollars. I'll add more details when I get them.

The logo is looking pretty good, I'm thinking we could use the one with the white background, that or we could interchange the colors in the masthead (where the background is purple) maybe using a lighter shade of purple for it? I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't make it to class this week, but things are looking pretty good so far.

So we've decided that that's our logo then? I'll post my concepts up if you guys want to take a look at that later.

Hey guys, here are some sketches I did during class - having a hard time trying to find a concept to bring into a semi, but I'm working on semi-comps right now. Hopefully I can get through this creative block.

These were trying to feed off of a graffiti style and lettering. The ones on the bottom were feeding more off of playing around with typography.

There will be a section on the evaluation sheet that each student receives that addresses the midterm presentation that took place last week.

Hey team. So I worked on the grid for the book. If you look I created a modular grid beneath and then simulated placement options of text (light blue) and photos (light grey). I did it with 8 pages since we will each be covering at least 8 pages. It shows possible placements and can be switched up and used with any of the show combinations. We should talk on thursday about finalizing where text and photo can be placed on each page, but I think this is a good foundation for us to jump off of.
